Devblog: Preparing for PTR Release
It’s been a long road, but this week marks a major milestone for our team—the release of our Public Test Realm (PTR). This phase represents a critical step in our development process, giving us the opportunity to gather valuable feedback and fine-tune the experience before we push forward.
Over the past few months, our team has been deep in the trenches, refining systems, balancing mechanics, and ensuring that the world we’re building is both immersive and functional. Internal testing has pushed our encounters, gear progression, and combat tuning to their limits, but there’s no substitute for live player feedback. The PTR will allow us to stress-test everything from AI behavior to itemization, ensuring that we’re on the right path.
Leading up to this, we’ve tackled some major pain points. Enemy scaling and balance have been key areas of focus, with our designers working to create a challenge that feels rewarding without being overwhelming. Dungeon encounters have undergone multiple iterations to ensure they hit the right difficulty curve. Gear progression has been reviewed, with adjustments made to item levels and drop distributions to better align with intended player progression. And of course, we've squashed a long list of bugs—though we fully expect the PTR to uncover more.
This week, as the PTR goes live, our goal is to observe, adapt, and improve. We’re looking at everything: combat pacing, difficulty spikes, AI behaviors, and overall gameplay feel. Your feedback will directly impact the next set of refinements, helping us shape the game into the best possible experience.
For now, we’re excited to open the doors and see how things play out in a live setting. Expect ongoing adjustments as we monitor the test, and as always, we appreciate your participation and feedback. This is a huge step forward, and we’re looking forward to sharing it with you.
Stay tuned for updates, and we’ll see you in the PTR!
