Devblog: A Journey Through Lavea

Devblog: A Journey Through Lavea

Greetings, Adventurers!

This week, the team continued building on the momentum of our Public Test Realm (PTR) launch while focusing on feedback, improvements, and future plans. Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to and where we’re heading.

Key Updates from the Week

Public Test Realm (PTR) Progress

The PTR is live, and players are diving into the lush landscapes of Lavea! Key areas available for exploration include:

  • Tutorial

  • Zone 1: Tidehaven

  • Zone 2: Quayside

Exciting features like the skill nexus, fishing, cooking, and warden combat pets have been met with enthusiasm. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, but several areas for improvement have been identified, and we’re listening closely.

Player Feedback Highlights

Thank you to everyone who participated in our PTR feedback survey! Here are the major takeaways:

  • Quickslots: While some appreciated the accessibility of the new design, many preferred the A2-style body slots. Players emphasized the need for intuitive usability and immersion.

  • UI Targeting & Healing: Players found the system unintuitive and suggested alternative mechanics like raycasting or point-and-shoot options for better clarity.

  • Warden Pets: Pets were generally well-received, though players noted size inconsistencies and wanted clearer behavior during combat or healing.

  • Content Variety: Requests included fast travel options, daily quests, and expanded crafting systems to enhance non-combat gameplay.

While we won’t reveal every detail of how we plan to address this feedback, rest assured, your voices are shaping our development priorities.

What’s Next?

As we move forward, the team is prioritizing bug fixes and player experience improvements for the PTR.
Key focus areas include:

  • Resolving the 'wisps' issue: This remains under investigation, and we appreciate your patience as we dig into the root cause.

  • Quickslots improvements: We’re exploring ways to refine the system while maintaining accessibility for all players.

  • Enhanced gameplay variety: Discussions are underway about crafting, daily quests, and new mechanics to diversify gameplay.

Beyond the PTR, we’re laying the groundwork for future updates, including expanded zones, new features, and more surprises we can’t wait to share.

Sneak Peek: Starscape Mage Armor

One of the exciting additions coming soon to Lavea is the Starscape mage armor set. Combining ethereal elegance with formidable power, this set is sure to make a statement in both style and battle. Keep an eye out for its debut in future updates!

Known Issues

We’re aware of some issues and are actively working on fixes:

  • Wisps Issue: Players appearing as glowing balls instead of avatars.

  • Hair Visibility: Helmets failing to hide hair after removal.

  • POI Navigation: Disappearing or duplicating POIs during quests.
Your reports are invaluable—please keep them coming!

This week showcased the power of collaboration between our team and our players. Your feedback and enthusiasm fuel our progress as we refine and expand the world of Lavea.

As always, thank you for joining us on this journey. Share your thoughts, stay tuned for updates, and we’ll see you in the game!

Until next time, happy adventuring!
